Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms apply when you buy or use Opac X, an extension for Adobe After Effects made by Subha Malakar. Buying a licence or installing the panel means you accept them.

What you are buying

Opac X is software you install on your own computer. It is not a subscription and not a hosted service. One payment of $79 gives you a licence to use it on one machine, with no expiry date. Future versions are included at no extra cost.

The free trial

The trial gives you the complete product for three days without a card. One trial is available per machine. When it ends the panel stops building until a licence key is activated; nothing you already made is removed or locked.

What you need to supply

Opac X does not include an AI subscription. It drives a coding agent — Claude Code by default, or Codex or OpenCode — that is signed in on your machine under your own account. That usage is billed by whoever provides it, not by us. You are responsible for complying with that provider's own terms.

You also need After Effects 2022 or newer, Windows 10 or 11, and an internet connection. Blender and the stock and image services are optional and use your own keys.

What you own

You own everything Opac X makes in your project. We claim no rights over your compositions, layers, renders or the work you sell. Assets fetched from third-party libraries such as Pexels stay under those libraries' own licences, and any credit those licences require remains your responsibility.

Payment and refunds

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and handles tax. Their terms and refund policy apply to the transaction. The three-day trial exists so you can confirm the product works on your machine before paying — please use it, particularly to check the After Effects and agent requirements.

Support

Support is by email at opacx.support@gmail.com and is answered by the person who built the software. There is no guaranteed response time, but questions are answered.

What we do not promise

Opac X writes into live After Effects projects. Every action is wrapped in a single undo group and checkpoints snapshot the project before risky work, but software can still produce a result you did not want. Keep your own backups of work that matters. The software is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will fit a particular purpose or run without error.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to Opac X is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the licence

You can stop using Opac X at any time and remove the key from Settings, which frees the seat for another machine. We may end a licence that is being shared beyond the permitted machine or used to try to break the licensing system; if we do, we will say why.

Changes

These terms may change as the product changes. The date at the top always shows the current version, and a material change will be noted on the site.
